Key Benefits at a Glance:

  • CoQ10 is essential for energy production and decreases with age
  • Promotes healthy blood pressure and blood vessel function
  • Improves blood flow and delivery of oxygen and nutrients
  • Helps reduce platelet aggregation

Product Description:

CardioNOx contains Co-enzyme Q10, which is an essential factor in the production of cellular energy in the mitochondria and is a powerful fat-soluble network antioxidant. Extensive research demonstrates that CoQ10 supports healthy cardiovascular function.

Co-enzyme Q10 (ubiquinone or ubidecarenone) is a well-known supplement for heart health, skin health and mitochondrial function. Mitochondria are the organelles in cells that produce energy in the body. They are present in all cells, but more abundantly in tissues that require high amounts of energy to function, like muscle, heart and brain tissue. As we age, mitochondrial function becomes less efficient due to free radical damage throughout the lifespan, and mitochondrial dysfunction is becoming more and more recognized as the underlying cause behind age-related diseases such as Alzheimer’s, heart disease, chronic fatigue, and others. Ubiquinol (CoQH2) is a potent antioxidant in the body and is produced when ubiquinone (CoQ) is fully reduced. Ubiquinone receives electrons from reactions at complexes I and II in the electron transport chain (which produces ATP or energy) in the mitochondria, which reduces it to ubiquinol. Ubiquinol then gives electrons to a reaction at complex III, or can act as an antioxidant to quench free radicals that can damage the mitochondrial DNA (click to read more). Once CoQH2 has lost its electrons, it becomes CoQ again and is recycled back to complexes I and II to be used again.

Background Information:

CoQ10 is a powerful antioxidant proven to benefit the cardiovascular system and other body systems. It is an anti-aging and protective supplement. Combined with NOx, its effects in the body are further enhanced. AOR is the first company to combine CoQ10 with powerful NOx3,2,1 technology.

Triglyceride Reducing Effect of Nitric Oxide

In a study involving patients older than 40 years with 3 or more of the following cardiovascular risk factors: hypertension, obesity, hyperlipidemia, smoking, sedentary, family history of cardiovascular disease, and diabetes, a significant lowering of triglyceride levels was observed in those who were taking a nitric oxide supplement containing nitrate-rich beetroot along with Hawthorn berry twice a day for a period of thirty days.

Co-enzyme Q10 is Effective as a Hypertensive Treatment

Human studies have shown that co-enzyme Q10 may also be safely offered to hypertensive patients as an alternative treatment option to conventional medications. Co-enzyme Q10 enhances cardiac output by exerting a positive effect upon the myocardium as well as mild vasodilatation.

Co-enzyme Q10 Improves Endothelial Dysfunction in Statin-Treated Type 2 Diabetic Patients

Co-enzyme Q10 is well recognized for its beneficial effects on the cardiovascular system. People who are taking statins are particularly vulnerable to the negative effects of having reduced co-enzyme Q10 synthesis due to the statins they are taking. However, a study demonstrated that co-enzyme Q10 supplementation improves endothelial dysfunction in statin-treated type 2 diabetic patients, possibly by reducing vascular oxidative stress.

CoQ10 Helps to Alleviate Physical Fatigue

CoQ10 has been proven to relieve the feelings of fatigue associated with heavy physical exertion. Compared to placebo takers in research trials, feelings of fatigue were decreased and the recovery period after physical exertion was shorter.

What Is Nitric Oxide?

Nitric oxide is an essential molecule that has a wide range of beneficial effects throughout the body. Its primary role is to facilitate communication between the body’s cells. It’s known as a powerful effector molecule and functions as an EDRF (endothelium-derived relaxation factor). Green leafy vegetables contain very high levels of nitrates, for example, celery, spinach and beetroot contain over 250mg of nitrate per 100g serving. Diets rich in fruits and vegetables such as the DASH, Mediterranean and Japanese, are associated with good health and protect against disease due to their high levels of nitrates.

Research:

Studies show that nitrate is able to convert into nitrite and then nitric oxide via bioconversion in the saliva. Ingesting nitrate has been proven to decrease blood pressure; it also prevents endothelial dysfunction caused by ischaemia-reperfusion injury. One such study in healthy individuals demonstrated that although inorganic nitrate ingestion does not alter endothelial function, it does appear to improve blood flow, in combination with a reduction in blood pressure. It is likely that these changes are due to the intra-vascular production of Nitric Oxide.

Animal studies in mice show that nitrite used as a hypertensive drug is effective despite increased oxidative stress associated with the condition. The nitrite reduced systolic blood pressure in a dose-dependent manner. Nitrite treatment produced relevant antioxidant effects in both hypertensive and normal-tensive controls rats and decreased the formation of radical sources.

Healthy Tidbits

In this century, the world will have more people living into their 80s and 90s than ever before, with the number of people 80+ set to quadruple between 2000 and 2050.

Increased life expectancy is largely due to improvements in public health, and healthy ageing is linked directly to health in earlier stages of life.

Although it is natural for biological processes to decline with age, the rate at which our body’s decline is impacted by many controllable lifestyle factors such as how we eat, how we move, and how many toxic substances we are exposed to.
